Survival and reproductive outcome of childbearing age ovarian cancer patients taking fertility-sparing surgery

Background: Surgical management of ovarian cancer includes total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy which results in the loss fertility. Fertility-sparing surgery reproductive aged women with early-stage favourable histology has been proposed by American College Obstetrics Gynecology European Society for Medical Oncology. We sought to access survival fertility outcome Korean their age who undertook fertility-sparing surgery.Methods: Based on National Insurance Claims Data Health Information Database, 328 newly developed 2010 were followed up pregnancy until 2020. Patients diagnosed or underwent before excluded. The control group consisted 552 matched age, economic status place living.Results: Out 120, 10 deaths occurred showing a rate 91.7%. Women undertaking had lower chance delivering new-born compared (OR 0.46; 95% CI 0.26-0.81). Diagnosis infertility, ectopic pregnancy, abortion appeared higher group, but it did not reach statistical significance.Conclusions: patients was than that without cancer. Undergoing per se should deter trying get pregnant as indicators do show statistically significant differences group.
